I first became interested in bellydance in 2000 as another form of working out. Something maybe a little bit more fun and interesting than the usual gym routine. I have always been a dance lover and dabbled with ballet and modern dance at a young age. I had a friend who introduced me to this style of dance and I can’t thank her enough for opening me up to something that so fully changed my life. My first class was inspiring. When the session was over I was on for more without a second thought. I fell in love with the costumes, the movement, the sensuality and the power that the women performing were emanating. The confidence and mood that could be created by this dance was entrancing.

All my dance classes focus on balancing your body’s energy. I concentrate on body awareness, proper posture, balance, core strength, flexibility and creativity. All this is done in an environment where the intention is to have fun moving to music. I really think of bellydance as a wholistic thing - Working with the body and mind together as a whole.

Dancing is something I will never be without. After all, music is the sound track to my life and there is no way I can sit still when there is a good beat to rock out too!

Core Balance activates the core of your being. It centers your mind, focuses attention to your body and connects you to your spirit. This exercise class is a fusion of many different movement and relaxation vocabularies with its foundation in pilates and dance. Achieve fluidity and grace of movement while developing strength and flexibility. Learn to connect to your breath and ultimately to yourself. Beginners welcome.
Please bring a yoga mat, 3 or5 lb weights (for women), 5, 10 or 15 lb weights (for men) and wear comfortable clothes you can move in

Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and wear comfortable clothes that you can move in

Discover your inner dancer - embrace beauty, connect with balance, grace and ultimately, your femininity.

Belly dance is a wonderful way to increase your body awareness, proper posture, balance and self-esteem. This is a positive environment for women of all ages, shapes and sizes. This is a great way to get fit and have fun! No dance experience necessary.

Students will need to wear comfortable clothes and bring a hip scarf. This scarf does not have to be anything fancy, just a length of fabric (usually a light material ie. silk or chiffon, not a winter scarf) that can fit around your hips.

 

Relax and Renew Workshop

Monday April 23rd 6.30- 8 pm

Relax and Renew Workshop

Relax and renew the core of your being. Center your mind, focus your attention to your body and allow yourself to take time for you. Submerge in this workshop and release unwanted tension through gentle strength training, stretches and body opening movements. Actively learn to let go of stress you are holding in your body and give yourself a well deserved, refreshing break. This class is a fusion of many different movement and relaxation vocabularies with its foundation in pilates, yoga and dance. Learn to connect to your breath and ultimately to yourself.
This is a workshop version of Holly’s Core Balance class which will be offering an evening session Monday nights starting May!!
Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a yoga mat
